ALTADENA
The Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission will hold apublic hearing Wednesday regarding a proposed Five Acres supportfacility and parking lot across the street from the child abuse andneglect treatment, education and prevention center's main campus.
The hearing will complete the commission's June 8 meeting, whichwas continued due to the number of opponents and proponents of theproject who showed up to provide input. The meeting will begin at 9a.m. in room 150 of the Hall of Records at 320 W. Temple St. in LosAngeles.
The facility is controversial and is opposed by the Altadena TownCouncil and Land Use Committee because the plot of land, at 743 W.Mountain View St., is zoned for residential use.
Five Acres, and its supporters have held that the supportfacility, designed to look like a Craftsman-style house, and 43- spotparking lot is necessary to continue its work with abused and at-risk youth. Lunch, show to raise funds for parade
