Fed: Howard says meeting unanimously rejects terrorism
A meeting of Muslim leaders has unanimously repudiated terrorism in all its forms and
committed to working within the laws of Australia.
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD, who convened the meeting, says there's a concern that a
small section of the country's Islamic community could be the source of terrorism.
Mr HOWARD says the federal government and Australia's Islamic leaders need each other's
help to combat terrorism.
And the meeting has agreed on a set of principles which will guide ongoing talks between
the two parties.
